Relative Cost Indicators Within each category, drug names are followed by a series of one or more dollar signs ($$) or exclamation points (!!) that represent the relative cost to the health plan of a prescription for that drug as follows: The relative cost does not correlate directly to a dollar amount. For example, a product followed by five dollar signs ($$$$$) is not necessarily five times more expensive than a product followed by one dollar sign ($).
